Incorporated as a non-profit, Nevada corporation on April 16, 1968, for the purposes of Promotion, Education and the Advancement of the Amateur Radio Service in the Northern Nevada and Eastern California Amateur Radio Communities.
Affiliation provides the club and members benefits from the ARRL. SNARS has over 160 members who are affiliated with the ARRL Today. Members are encouraged to join the ARRL which allows for SNARS to earn a commission on new and renewing ARRL Memberships.
SNARS provides the latest in Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) with 3 systems covering the Reno/Tahoe Areas. The systems are located on the highest mountain tops and provide members HT Coverage. Members are provided preconfigured codeplugs.
Wide Area Linked Analog Repeater system covering the greater Reno / Tahoe Area. 7 systems provides members with HT coverage and a daily Noon Net for questions and discussions related to amateur radio.
